Professor Hiroshi Hakoyama's Comments Published in an Article on River Basin Flood Control in the Sankei Shimbun

IFB

“River basin flood control is a relatively new concept in which stakeholders throughout a river basin work together to take measures against flood disasters, which have become increasingly severe in recent years. In addition to flood control, efforts to preserve the river basin’s wildlife, such as considering the evacuation of fish during floods, are needed more than ever. Research at the Institute of Freshwater Biology in the Chikuma River system will contribute to regional flood control in the river basin.
