IFB

A survey of freshwater fish fauna throughout the Shinano River was conducted by Assistant Professor Kodama, Visiting Associate Professor Faulks, and Professor Hakoyama on September 12-14, 2022. This is a continuation of last year’s survey, and this year, in addition to the fish survey using environmental DNA, we also conducted a water quality survey for neonicotinoid pesticides and other pesticides.

This survey is being conducted as part of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism’s general research project on “The Importance of Habitat Continuity in Rivers - Impact Assessment and Conservation Measures for River Ecosystems” under the Regional Issue Field (River Ecology) of the River Erosion Control Technology Research and Development Regional Issue Field, and a large-scale project being conducted by a research group consisting of the Institute of Freshwater Biology, Shinshu University, and the Nagano Prefectural Fisheries Experimental Station.
