The Kano River and the Kakita River are famous for their spring water in Mishima, Shizuoka Prefecture. It is also an area prone to flooding and is a river where measures have been taken, such as the construction of the Kano River Floodway. The Kano River Research Group is conducting research on this river with the River Ecology Research Fund of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. The 2022 River Ecology Academic Research Group/Kano River On-site Inspection Meeting was held on the Kano River on October 13-14, 2022, and Professor Hakoyama Hiroshi participated as a member of the River Ecology Academic Research Group Parent Committee. Due to the impact of COVID-19, the River Ecology Academic Study Group On-Site Inspection Meeting was held for the first time in two years, but it was attended by many members of the Parent Committee, Kano River Research Group, Chubu Regional Development Bureau + Numazu River and National Highway Office, and the Study Group Secretariat, and there was a presentation of the results of the Kano River Research Group and a lively discussion.
