The Fisheries Resource Survey and Evaluation Promotion Project (Eel Unit) Promotion Review Meeting was held on January 19.

On the afternoon of Thursday, January 19, 2023, the Fisheries Resource Survey and Evaluation Promotion Project (Eel Unit) Promotion Review Meeting was held at the Fisheries Agency. 50 people from the Fisheries Agency (Fisheries Resources Division International Resources Team and Environmental Planning Team), which commissioned the project, and 35 universities and research institutions attended, and reports were given on the results of research projects in fiscal year 2022. Reports were given on Japanese eel extinction risk assessment, resource trend analysis, resource management, population genetics analysis, Shirasu migration survey, and Argos satellite tagging survey, and there was an active question and answer session. The research results will be used for national and international Japanese eel resource management.
